Mayors for Peace has members in 150 countries, and on every continent.  Many of these members play an active role in their own communities to raise awareness and press for solutions to the urgent problem of nuclear weapons, which remain a major threat to world security and the safety of citizens.  City leaders, who have a duty to represent and fight for the rights of their citizens, have been stepping in to address this most pressing of issues.
