Ursula Gelis
Ursula Gelis is a German political activist, currently living in Oslo/Norway. Formerly working with German-Jewish relations and the Holocaust/WWII, she turned to nuclear issues by addressing a (potential) ‘Nuclear Holocaust’ confronting mankind since 1945. Ursula is a board member of ‘No-to-Nuclear-weapons’, Oslo section, a member of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), and writes articles for the Norwegian branch. She is connected to the international ICAN campaign. Since 2009 she has been a frequent contributor to the Women and Life on Earth (WLOE) website (German/English) with articles about nuclear issues, environmental threats, gender, disarmament and the militarization of society. At the IPPNW student congress in 2010 in Oslo she gave a lecture on teaching the next generation about nuclear threats. She is a member of the Global Network against weapons and nuclear power in space and a 2020 Vision Campaigner for Mayors for Peace in Norway.
