Mayors support European Youth biking for 2020 Vision

Luc Dehaene, mayor of Ypres, joined the young people on the first kilometers of their bike ride for a global ban of nuclear weapons.

A group of 50 young people from 15 European countries did an anti-nuclear bike ride of 150 km across Belgium. On Sunday 6th August 2006, the group took part in a commemoration for the 61st anniversary of the atomic bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

The event took place in the context of the "Mayors For Peace 2020 Vision" campaign.
