23 new cities join Mayors for Peace as of May 11th

Hiroshima - Ypres, May 11th 2007 - 23 new cities have joined Mayors for Peace . Thus, the Conference involves 1,631 cities in 120 countries and regions around the world as of May 11th, 2007. New members are from Austria (1), Belgium (11), Croatia (6), Italy (3), Spain (1) and UK (1).
The Mayors for Peace welcomes the cities of Liebenfels (Austria), Beersel, Bekkevoort, Diepenbeek, Diksmuide, Evere, Fosses-La-Ville, Herzele, Lokeren, Mouscron, Nevele, Rijkevorsel (Belgium), Dubrovnik, Omis, Opcina Erdut, Ploce, Stari Grad, Supetar (Croatia), Mondavio, Pergola, Rocca d' Arce (Italy), Sant Andreu de Llavaneres (Spain) and Derby (U.K.).

For the international membership drive, capacity building and the 2020 Vision Campaign the office for Ypres tries to identify country contacts, both in City Halls and NGO's. Interested? Let us know ASAP. For the membership drive we can provide you with some tools for success!
