Delegation of European and Mediterranean Mayors, Geneva, 28-30 April 2008

A final reminder has been sent out to all Mayors for Peace members in Europe and the Mediterranean Area about the invitation from the Mayors of Hiroshima, Ypres, and Geneva to be part of a delegation to Geneva from 28 to 30 April.  City representatives from Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Palestine, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland are currently on board.  It will observe and lobby the 2nd Preparatory Committee of the 2010 NPT Review Conference.  The delegates will confer with each other, NGO and civil society leaders, and with diplomats working in the field of nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation.  A session will held at the International Red Cross Museum on protecting cities from the scourge of war.  For more details see the Itinerary for Delegation.  Mayors and staff are urged to urgently look into the Practical Matters associated with participation.  Please check this site regularly for additional information during the lead up to the delegation/conference.
